In honour of Robbie Burns Day here is a wee Scottish poem

Loch Ness Monster

The Loch Ness Monster,
I’m ‘ere to say,
‘as not been captured
to this very day.
It appears now an’ then
way out in yon lake,
an’ we Scots believe it
fer our country’s sake.
He’s a tourist attraction,
but ‘tween you an’ me
it’s highly doubtful
that you’ll ever see
his big form lurkin’
long neck and huge tail,
bigger than life,
more sleek than a whale.
Scots call ‘er Nessie,
an endearment term,
fer many years now
‘er myth has been firm.
Many hours pass by
as folk gaze at the lake,
the peace and quiet’s good
Fer their soul’s sake.
Like Scottish highlands
Nessie beckons y’ see,
saying cum fer a visit
an’ try to see me.
