Day 29 NaPoWriMo “Try writing poems that contain at least five words in other languages.” I chose Italian, although I don’t know it at all. I started with a painting my son Dave created, his art can be seen at www.amazedcreations.com
“I love you more than a heart.”
my granddaughter said to my son.
It touched him so much he painted it.
My poetic tribute is now also done.
MORE THAN A HEART
Ti amo più di un cuore, in Italian
means “I love you more than a heart”.
That phrase coined by my granddaughter,
is a memory that will never depart.
Ti voglio molto bene, Maya,
I love you very much.
You are very creative
and have a gifted artistic touch.
You are mio prezioso ragazza,
which translates to my precious girl.
I’m grateful to live close enough
that I see your new skills unfurl.
Buon decimo compleanno.
Happy tenth birthday to you.
Remember to always be happy
in all you choose to do.
I’m blessed to be your Granny,
Sono felice di essere tua nonna.

What a beautiful sentence. You must be charmed to have such a granddaughter.
She is wonderful. When she comes for a sleepover, we often do our morning writing together. Treasured moments.
